@Pavel The threat of a dry socket had been one of the larger reasons I’m so fastidious about my teeth these days. Like I said, I didn’t have dental insurance for a very long time. And I think I’ve gotten lucky. Because that kind of pain is terrifying.

So, I don’t like to ask for help, especially financial help, but got some bad news today regarding my ex’s ability to continue to contribute to the support of his kids, money that I was counting on to help get them what they need to start back to school. I make enough money to handle the basics and, until inflation started making everything more expensive, I could even save money and get the kids stuff they wanted. Thanks to life being life, my savings are gone and my kids are going back to school with me having no extra money in the budget to be able to get them what they need for it.
I put together a GoFundMe. I know times are hard for everyone and it is incredibly painful to even have to ask for help with this, but my kids come even above my stupid pride.

@Herja i was just saying this earlier today, that we have and will help people in this community. done, donated, ilu.
-
Gosh I love you people so much.
-
asking for help is the fuckin worst.
GIVING help, if you can? is the best.
-
People really are amazing.

Holy shit, you guys. I don’t know what to say other than thank you. You do not understand how much anxiety you just removed from my life. I am sure I will stop being utterly mortified in like 67 years.
But still, thank you so much.

The mutual aid in our little community, which has helped me in some pretty difficult times, always warms my cold, little heart.

@Roz wtf how dare you show me something so heartbreakingly cute

I wasnt going to be satisfied until that was pushed over 1k.
I wish your children well.

I KEENLY remember back-to-school.

Late to this, but we got you! Thank you for all you do around here. Also, great job being able to reach out and allow us to reach back! Proud of you!

Thank you for the kind offer, I think at this point all I’ve got is a couple more days and maybe hopefully I can be free. Though in the interim, everyone else in my household now has it.
I did spend a few days calling pretty much all the companies I deal with and go ‘hey, you know that money you want for X bill? Well, you need to wait. Cos COVID.’ and overall it worked out ‘okay’.

Hello friends.
My mom is in the final stages of dementia, which means she spent the last week and a half in the hospital with a respiratory infection and I spent a lot of time with her because she can’t be left alone, along with working full time and being a mom and feeling like I’m failing everyone across the board. She has recovered enough to come home today but it’s very very likely it’ll happen again soon (it’s already happened once before this).
On top of this I am still trying to shake getting COVID last month. On top on TOP of this, I haven’t been able to get my antidepressants refilled until Wednesday. I really loathe saying I’m not okay but I’m not okay right now. I have a very strong support system, but the bench is shallow and only a little less worn out than I am.
I think I can keep from going apeshit on anyone for the next 48 hours but just in case the brain weasels win, go easy on me, ‘k?

@Snackness hey, I am so sorry. in case you need someone to say it, that is A Lot, and you should give yourself a lot of grace rn as you handle it. i hope everyone else you interact with will as well.
all the positive vibes sent your way. i know what it is like to go cold turkey for a couple days from antidepressants; it is miserable.
-
@Snackness oh buddy.
-
@Snackness You’re doing the best you can with so much on your plate. You’ve got this. We’ve got your back here. You will get through this and weather this storm. You will be able to get on a couple of days without your medication because you are strong and capable. Be kind to yourself, give yourself love because you are doing enough; more than. You are above and beyond. I’m sending you positive vibes and love ️

Upvoting this to say ‘I feel you’ feels so wrong on this but…
@Snackness I feel you. I don’t know where you’re at in the world but speak with your pharmacist; they might be able to provide you with some emergency pills to prevent you having to go without in the interim because even a couple of days of drop-off can definitely be harsh.
If you’ve got sick days I reckon 'take ‘em’, knock at least one concern off your plate in the short term to give yourself one less thing playing pile on. Be kind to yourself.
