Today I found out about the existence of onion rings “breaded” in hamburger and wrapped so completely in bacon that no beef shows through. Fuck off with that.

@GF that sounds absolutely amazing, I’ll definitely take that peeve off your hands if you could tell me where I might find that lol

@bear_necessities The only thing worse than not getting to eat that for health reasons is other people being healthy enough to eat them.

Also every child should be crippled with unpayable student loan debt because I was and I want everyone to suffer as much as me.

@bear_necessities Nothing to be sorry for. I do find it gross, but I’d still eat at least one.

Just to be sure they’re as gross as you think they are? And then maybe a second to confirm your initial assessment. But it takes 3 results to really prove something.

@TNP I mean, obviously. Once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, three times is a pattern.

This reminds me of my husband and kids finding the Twisted (@JungleTwisted, I guess) Facebook page with its ridiculous recipes, and I’ve not been able to keep myself from preparing several with just that thought in mind.

I don’t remember all of them, but the first one I made was a grilled cheese sandwich with bacon and breaded cheese sticks inside, along with like three cheeses and parmesan-crusted buttered bread outsides. I don’t know, there were probably breaded onion rings in there, too.

                    Now I want another one.

@eye8urcake My go-to for “that sounds wretched, I think I’ll make one” is a grilled cheese sandwich with mozzarella cheese, white chocolate, and raspberry jam.

This isn’t a true peeve since I think it’s really funny.
A friend of mine from my early vampire WoD mush days pinged me to tell me she heard a diaper subscription service ad for a company called Coterie and momentarily had to think for a moment as to whether that was the adult kind or the kid kind. So very old.

Dunno what I did wrong, but the spaghetti sauce is sour. Maybe it’s from not using sausage grease as the base.

@GF A good spaghetti sauce doesn’t /need/ sausage, but when my dishes go wrong the first culprits I usually shakedown are salt and fat, whether too much or not enough. These form the basis for a lot of how flavors are brought out in food. If it isn’t those, I start eyeballing how hot and for how long I’ve cooked it.

I would recommend separating a small portion into a cup and blending in a little baking soda to see if it can neutralize some of the sourness, if that doesn’t work, sometimes just a touch of sweetness can do the same thing if the sodium content is already where it needs to be.

@BurnNotice Yeah. I made it the same way I always do except I used olive oil to saute the onions instead of sausage fat, because I’m just not in the mood for such a heavy, greasy meat; and I didn’t add carrots because I’m out.

                                      Adulthood sucks.

I should clarify: My job is fine, I love my supervisor and my team, (of course, this is real life, so upper management is predictably lame) but I’m bored, inflation is gobbling up my salary, and with mandates to be in the office more, my free time is evaporating out from under me.

I miss college, frontloading all of my classes into a single (very long) day of the week, and then having six days to poke at homework but mostly RP and playing MMOs to an unhealthy degree. This isn’t even rose-colored glasses, that was a fucking blast.

I guess I don’t see what the “logical next step” is in life anymore given the housing market has just rocketed out of the fucking solar system, and that feeling of being unmoored from life’s checkpoint system outside of a nebulous ‘retire some day and try not to die until you can enjoy it’ is very fucking dull. It just makes me resent every day I go into work, as it feels like a time-thief.

I just want to hang out with a few buddies and camp a Fungi Tunic, damn it. I need that regen for my alts.

                                      Tch.

As a service worker, my peeve today is bitchy customers who usually tip well withholding tips from the person doing the job because they’re mad about something that wasn’t that person’s fault.
