I am late to the party because naps, and I think I must have missed something someone said somewhere but…
Please do not doubt someone who claims they have been abused. Not even if you profoundly dislike them. Not even if they engage in shitty behavior themselves after the fact.
NGL, I got way too drawn into Ghost’s personal life and resulting well-being about a decade ago, but it was not in the Regina George “OMG, why are you so obsessed with me?!” kind of way that Dropkick tried to portray it as later. It was in the “As extremely unlikely as it is to be accepted, I feel like I need to (with my partner’s knowledge and agreement) at least offer to put this person up in my spare bedroom because they have repeatedly expressed to me that they feel unsafe in their own home” kind of way.
I’m not going to go into more than that because it’s absolutely not my story to share, and I’m not going to claim that it justifies terrible behavior on his part because it absolutely does not. Believe me, even after confirming there was no bad blood between us – at least not about that and the dRaMa!!11!one!elevn!!! that resulted – there have been several times since then that I’ve wanted to sock the dude in the mouth.
But, like… don’t, guys. Just don’t. Not cool, and A+ to the folks who said they aren’t going to do that.

Please tell me someone has been turned into a ghoul after giving oral sex.
Only in those who haven’t received the HPV vaccine.

Undead Menses is hands down the best vamp merit ever. Who cares about blush of life!!
Please tell me someone has been turned into a ghoul after giving oral sex.
That actually comes up in at least one published White Wolf book, though at this point I no longer remember which. I’ll tag @insomniac and maybe he’ll reply after his TT session is over.
ETA: I am going to laugh so hard if his inaugural post on BMD is like, “Yeah, so the VtM book with the jizz-blood ghouling is…”
-
@Jumpscare its WoD. So yeah and not even using an awesome merit like that.
-
@Aria this is why I lol every time when some one is like “omg why would anyone think VtR or VtM is full of sex, that’s just players being weird! Why are people always wanting to do weird sex stuff and incest and all that! Play the game!” That’s how I know they don’t read the side stories in the books.
-
@Aria I was going to ask you too if you think vampires bong down, but clearly you already answered that question.
-
In original WoD, it was like: Vampires don’t do sex because A) The Kiss is better, B) The kiss is better, and C) Sex is for living things and other vamps will mock you for doing it.
Then they realized that living people like sex, and sex sells, so it’s changed to, ‘Some vampires do it for pleasure or hunting, but the Kiss is still better’.
Heh.
-
Why are people always wanting to do weird sex stuff
In my experience, the answer to that is just straight up, old-fashioned:
people
But also, I completely understand the need to ask:
Why are people
Just why. WHY?
But there is a long list of reasons and experiences that have resulted in me having a much higher tolerance for “weird sex stuff” than most people. As long as everyone involved is enthusiastically consenting, I will probably just find it hilarious more than anything else.
Humans as a species are just dumb, hairless little monkeys with the capacity for great art and revolutionary empathy and shocking cruelty and really weird kinks and adorable perversions. What can you do?
-
omg it’s the vampire sex debate discussion happening right before us!

With how often vampires are used as metaphors for queerness and/or STIs, it feels silly and slightly insecure to say vampires don’t bone down. Like, that decision feels very rooted in a sense of “Um, we’re too mature and adult to be horny. That’s kid stuff and we’re very serious grownups.”
Plus your game has failed if you let me play a vampire but discourage me from saying “So then I said to my girlfriend, ‘See you next month!’”
-
My policy best policy. “Don’t fucking ask me about this. Do not make me rule on this. Or else.” Paraphrased, I think there was less swearing and more threats.

LOL Wasn’t my idea, was just the original 1e book rules. There was even a /flaw/ for Vampires to have a Sex Drive, like, any sort of biological attraction to humans.
Don’t blame me, I’m not a writer. I also don’t generally play Vampires much but Werewolf and Mage hadn’t come out yet back then.
-
In any case, CoD and VtR kinda have more transgressive shit in them than I’ve ever seen sanctioned on a mush. Not saying that is a bad thing. Just saying that I do find “heavens to Betsy wherever did these players get these ideas, we aren’t shang” when its right there in the source books to be really unintentionally amusing.

Also pretty much my policy when running games. “Do not make me adjudicate whatever weird TS y’all are getting up to. I didn’t consent to be involved in it and I’m going to be real cranky if you make me do this. Otherwise, bang on and have fun.”
The last part there is especially important because it needs to be made clear that if someone is in engaging in behavior that is officially Not Okay, the person reporting them isn’t going to be in trouble for engaging in TS. I do not care that people were TSing. But if someone, anyone, is being abusive and there is an added layer of sex pest on top that, there is also going to be an added layer of Absolutely Fucking Not in my response.
-
Yeah, that’s 100% the way to go. For Ashes, Vampire Sex was The Hot Button Topic at the time and I was so tired of people arguing about it. So tired. They were never ever going to agree or be able to compromise (somebody had to be WRONG, Sunny) and I was NOT gonna pick a side.
-
I’ve never played in a WoD MU* but I spent MANY years running oWoD LARPs. This saved me from most, but not all of the worst sex-related shit that haunts the aesthetic. Like do what you folks want as long as it’s enthusiastically consensual but I’m gonna go run another scene and you can just let me know how it turns out later.
In a MU* context tho this actually sounds kind of hilarious. I’m the wrong ST for that though. You’re gonna end up with a gang of hunters coming through the windows just when you finally got the goat lubed up.
edit: the goat is a shifter too and has a safe bleat. don’t @ me
