I am seriously going to stop poking at this but I’m on vacation right now so here’s the illustrated guide to the remaining “community” on Derp’s echo chamber. An X means they either haven’t posted since the dust-up or just posted their “peace out” message and left.
Out of the top-24 most liked - not most prolific, but most agreed with posters - only five remain who weren’t banned at some point. And four of them are either current or former board admin.
Do with that info what you will. To me, it lays bare the fact that this was never about the health of the community.
Same energy.

@Kestrel was genetically engineered in a laboratory to be the world’s greatest warrior, but was raised in England as part of a social experiment to see if the nation’s “what would the neighbors think” culture could override her genetic programming. It has not occurred yet to the scientists that neither is the case; that Kestrel might have chosen a life of peace of her own free will and morality.
Kestrel once saved four babies from a burning orphanage. She didn’t rush into the fire or anything silly like that. Rather, she rebuked the fire sharply to stop being such a little attention-seeker, and the flame, humiliated, slinked off into a river to think about what it had done.
Kestrel posts so rarely on this board because she spends most of her time in outer space, visiting the sun. She has discovered the sun is actual a titanic labyrinth made of plasma, which she has been mapping off and on for the last three years. Many alien species are assisting her efforts in exchange for access to her data and to her music recommendations, which they seem to consider a form of currency.
Once per year, Kestrel may summon an army of gerbils to do her bidding. She does not know where, when, or how she acquired this power, but the gerbils know, and they refuse to speak of it.
Kestrel refuses to watch “white savior” movies because it reminds her of the time she personally unified China thousands of years ago. In retrospect, she wishes she’d let them unify themselves, but it’s too late to fix that now. All she can do is try to avoid the embarrassment.

Hm, I do think some of those red X’s hadn’t posted quite a bit before the dust up, too. Can I make a request that maybe they be grey X’s, if they hadn’t posted in a while before the dust up?

I think technically, too, that Coin should have an X. He was unbanned but never went back.
I would also like an X; I went back just to post some corrections, but I posted a goodbye! (twice)

Pyre is the mastermind behind all, lurking in the shadows and planning every move, every possible contingency, the Xanatos of text roleplaying game messageboards. Unfortunately, they were found out when they couldn’t resist flying about Tastes Less Game-y in a robot suit with glowing eyes and laser guns, which, to be fair, is understandable.

A couple days of AWOL and things go wild.
All I gotta say is I still think they are the ones trying to keep the dramas going. It seems like as soon as the subject of MSB starts to drop from here, they do something to stir it up again. I’m not saying the posts ‘finish’ but the conversations in them just wander off to jokes/a new direction.
So, to me they want to pad their board with posts by stirring up those that pay attention to both here and MSB.
Or
They are trying to prove they are the superior board by constantly pointing out ‘flaws’ of people on here.
Either way, to me, they come off as very much the more petty and unethical group for it. I don’t think I am really part of any ‘clique’ on either board. Except maybe with @Narson on account of knowing him forever and @Tributary . I don’t think I really know anyone else beyond the occasional chitchat with 'em. I could be wrong about not knowing people well because I’m bad at keeping in touch, no matter how much I like a person (this 100% includes family and offline friends), and ALWAYS forget how I know someone.
I don’t read most posts here but also don’t turn them off because I sometimes get caught in by the little snippet the ‘recent’ has of the latest post and want to see what it is about (which I regret because it takes me forever to figure out where it all started). I did the same on MSB.

I have it on good authority that–Ghost @ MSB
The current state of things is that whenever people from BMD get bored due to lack of regular victims over there, some unmanned ones come over here to try to stir up drama with no end result, then either get banned to get positive responses from their peers OR get bored, complain about this place being an echo chamber, and then hibernate until they get bored again because the usual targets aren’t over there.
I’m sure it’s our fault because we are–
