Aww. My first peeve in this shiny new place.
I feel like I need a cupcake with a candle or something!
So, the peeve - crawling out from the wreckage of the past year (shit, it’s only been nine months… whatever, six/half dozen…) to toe-in-the-water some games, and having the first one I manage to get into show itself as having a shitty playerbase two days later.
Gee, I wonder why you only have 16 people, max. Could it be that 12.5% of them are dicks to new players?

When people try to make you choose which character THEY are going to play in a scene. This is sort of a long-standing peeve of mine, and it’s not a big deal, but it’s irritating every time.
I don’t remember your alts. I’m never going to remember your alts. I barely remember you as a player, ninety percent of the time. If you say you want to RP, and I say sure, don’t come back at me with, “Which alt do you want?” because it’s not my character and I don’t care. Pick someone you want to play! I’m not the boss of you!
And, honestly, more than half the time I’m in the position of coming up with the idea, coming up with the set, and asking me to ALSO PICK WHO YOU’RE EVEN PLAYING is just…too damn much. Have mercy.

I might just be old and set in my ways but frankly, if my character (X) has already RP’d extensively with your character (Y) then I don’t want X meeting your alt (Z). I don’t want to have to split my brain to remember which alt of yours knows what about my character, thank you.

It was very common on Pern games for all my alts to know (and probably plow) all your alts.

I could not decide whether to put this on the “good things in MUSHing” thread or this one…
I’m peeved that I’m excited to see my family again after a long time apart! But that they’re coming right when I am lining up RPz that I want to have and now have to wait.
So, basically, I’m mad that good things are happening in real life and MUSHing.

It isn’t, but sometimes it’s just true. There’s a point where how someone takes something you’ve said becomes their problem, not yours.

Okay, but have you ever been in a situation where saying “I’m sorry you feel that way [because this is your problem]” has improved the quarrel you’re in?
