Real life happy

Ever since I broke the 300 pound barrier in deadlifting, I’ve felt like I hit a plateau with strength training and fitness. I had been stuck on 305 for deadlift for some time now.
I finally broke through and lifted to 315. Which isn’t the biggest jump in the world, but I’m really proud of that.

I wear a glittery enamel pin-badge that says ‘MAKE IT GAY YOU COWARDS’ on my hat.
Today a stranger started some sort of right-wing rant at me, assuming I’d agree, but then spotted this delightful bit of flair, shut her mouth, turned around and walked briskly away from me.
What joy!

Exactly the reason I’d often answer the door to jehova’s witnesses or evangelists in one of many heavy metal t-shirts.

I changed my volunteer hours at the shelter to avoid some of the frustrations I had over the summer. It has been great.
One of the best is that since everyone knew we were understaffed today for a full clean, the volunteers who were able to come all showed up an hour early. There was no coordination at all. The cats needed their area clean so gdi, they were going to get it done.

Ya’ll. After a year of grief-fueled burnout I have a job that pays milkbones, but is a gentle balm on my soul: bathing dogs.

After months of fighting to get into a specialist, I am scheduled for a nerve block on my back. I cannot express how excited and relieved I am. There is no repairing the damage to it but I can prevent further damage once I can actually use my back again to exercise and stuff.

I was intensely worried about this school year given the difficult history the kiddo and I have had with his school re: zero enforcement around bullying policies and a few incredibly bizarre teachers (Satanic Saiyan Panic, I’ll never forget ye), but so far everything has been very smooth sailing. the weight this has taken off my mind is hard to even describe.

Met with a therapist and we clicked. First time using one in a long time, working on being the better me. I miss mushing, but need to focus on myself for a bit. Might see ya’ll in the future might not, but I hope everyone is doing well out there in the land of MU!

When work is going well, and life is just going well in general. It feels nice to take a deep breath and know that everything is going to be okay.
