When lots of amazing things are happening in a game, and people are buying into it and having fun. It’s been a while since I’ve been this immersed in a story and I’m enjoying it.

@Polk I’m not trying to be a jerk for asking this, I’m genuinely curious, but what does it matter what other players do? If they’re comfortable with using Ares, why do they need to use telnet to access it?

Excelsior is approaching our second anniversary (November 10th), and we’re incredibly excited about it! We’ve got plenty of stories left to share, and I’m here to update former players, future players, and everyone in between on what’s coming up. I’ll also give you a glimpse of the characters you can expect to see soon!

Yes, I did mention a limited roster. The admin team has received a lot of feedback about our roster-only approach, so I’d like to clarify why we’ve chosen this path. While our admin team may seem large and we do have all the Infinity Stones in attendance, not all of our staff are involved with rosters or storylines. We have a dedicated CSS admin (Hi Blu!) and a staff member handling administrative tasks (Hi Mind!), but only a few staffers focus on story development (Hi Power, Reality, and Time!).

We strive to maintain a roster that ensures our story staff can manage it without being overwhelmed.

Now, let’s talk about what’s coming soon!

Some upcoming characters will join an all-new team, while others will slot into existing teams. We’re currently running a storyline that will bring the Exiles into our world with a unique twist.

Here’s a list of characters to expect in the next few months:

Brielle Brooks, Cerise, Monica Rambeau, Kamala Khan, Felicia Hardy, Hercules, Jacqueline Falsworth, Leiko Wu, Yelena Belova, America Chavez, Billy Maximoff, Brandy Selby, The Stepford Cuckoos, Daisy Johnson, Eli Bradley, Franklin Richards, Laura Kinney, Luna Maximoff, Madelyne Pryor, N’Jadaka, Nathaniel Richards, Rachel Summers, Talia Wagner, Teddy Altman, Tommy Maximoff, Valeria Richards and Vivian Vision.

This roster will be rolled out through the end of fall. The Exile characters will be introduced sporadically at the end of August, with some listed characters following through September and early October.

We’ll use storylines to introduce them and provide reasons for their interactions with existing characters in the game.

If any of these characters catch your interest, chat with us, and see what we have planned for the next few months. All of our characters have unique twists on their canon counterparts, and we hope you’ll join us for the adventure!

I don’t watch television in general, and I’m not someone who ever really watches anime but I randomly tuned in to the One Piece live action this weekend and finished it, it was great.

When a lonely, attention starved player creates so much drama and and strife in a game it gives you an actual migraine.

@renaveleigh I checked to see if that forum was open, and it was open to guests, we assumed that being open to guests would allow anyone to see it. The forum is set to everyone now, so everyone should be able to see it. Our apologies that we were not aware of the difference, but this has been corrected now. Thanks so much for speaking up!

When you put a lot of effort into the game you are running with some others, but all of the credit goes to one person. You could speak up, you could let people know how much you do, but the person who is getting the credit is amazing, so you just don’t say anything at all.

@RightMeow I have felt this the past two months, my motivation is gone lately and all I want to do is sleep. I keep putting one foot in front of the other, but sometimes I just don’t want to.

I hope things look up for you, and motivation returns sooner rather than later.

@Jennkryst The first post about this was that they were banned from the mush. That’s the only reason why I brought that particular point up.

We had a similar issue on the game that I run, which is a comic book game, we are a roster game, and we had to take some time to discuss making a character trans. We like to be inclusive, and the person playing that character had possession of this particular character for quite some time. (More than a year.)

We’re still discussing it, and trying to make any transition that happens an organic thing that isn’t rushed but done over time through RP.

There is always the chance that this character gets dropped and picked up by another player who doesn’t want to continue that kind of storyline and we try to keep that in mind before we make any big changes.

I think this is a very sensitive subject, and I don’t think someone making the request warrants a ban, so I’m wondering what else was said or done while this happened.

I think it’s great that we have mediums that give us the option to use our imaginations and to look at a picture if it’s available. I read descriptions every so often, but when I write them, they’re one line or less, giving the very basics, because I hate writing them too.
