I just want a tl;dr of what dragon colors and styles mean, since I haven’t read any Pern books.

Gold (F) - only women riders. Female leaders.
Bronze (M) - only men. Male leaders.
Brown (M) - only men in the books, any in games.
Blue (M) - only men in the books, any in games.
Green (F) - was only men in the books, then some women. Any in games.Gold is biggest, down in order through green. In the books, that’s kind of the order of importance, too. Not in games, though.
Only Gold lay eggs, but Green and Gold both have mating flights regularly.
There isn’t really any technical difference between them as far as personality but there are a lot of stereotypes.

That might’ve been me (PuppyBreath)! I’d posted about my post-apoc Pern idea, but I gave up on it because of, uh, real virus things happening. And never came up with another reason for post-apoc.
As for dragon color, usually bronze or green depending on if I want to be macho queer or chaos gay.

@Prototart The book was so unremarkable to me that I do not remember the plot at all. Just that the cover was green and had a white dragon on the cover. Got it from my cousin when my aunt cleaned out his room.
But clearly I managed to read the most super special dragon one. Win!
