Yeah, and I think there was a tribe called the Black Furies that were all women who hated men but were also required to breed so they raped and killed men. Real classy stuff.

I remember there was an adventure pack from white wolf where you had your pack break into a zoo and “save” captive wolves to make strong blooded kinfolk with them. They didn’t go into detail about what happened to the wolves after you saved them and handed them over to another pack but… yikes!

True, even noble women were treated as second class nobles but they still had better standing than your average peasant man in society. That was my point, to show how horribly stratified and stagnant society was back then.

I guess I’ve just read too much history to think going back to anything even remotely related to those times would be appealing. It was all so barbaric. Even in Lord of the Rings things were really messed up if you stop and think about it even for a moment.

To me, maybe because I was raised on sci-fi rather than fantasy, making a fantasy version of the dark ages is like making a fantasy version of the American south during slavery. You could do it, it is possible, you could ignore all the bad stuff and make a game out of the high society aspects of it, but… why?!

To each there own, I guess.

It was the old days when most players were horny teenagers. The game had first come out and got promoted big time in comic and game shops.

Remember the hard back edition with the claw marks cut into the cover? That was the new thing back then. The writers of the book knew it. They included a little section in the book about how the game isn’t just about sexy werewolves.

My mother is disabled and has extensive medical bills.
We are eating 58 cent burritos and 68 cent boxes of mac’n cheese to survive. It’s very much:

Many of our hobbies are far more problematic than we know.

Most people don’t realize it is cannon in the DC universe that the Amazons from the island Wonder Woman comes from would set sail into the ocean, find a boat full of men, bang them in a drunken orgy, then murder them all. They would keep the girls but gather all the male children that resulted from the orgy and take them to “man’s world” where they would leave them to be adopted or die.

I’ve been thinking about it and maybe I’m just mad because the Lords and Ladies type games are glorifying some of the worst kinds of people to have ever existed on the face of the earth.

It’s like making a game where everyone is a billionaire out to maximize their portfolio. Much more horrific than WoD ever could be.

The world would be a better place if more comic book stores hired women to station their front counters.
It might ease the nerds into being normal around women by giving them regular exposure to girl-cooties.

The appeal to me is playing someone who is making the world a better place, not someone who wallows in extreme privilege and pretends doing something nice every few months makes it okay that their daily luxury is built on crushing the majority.

You can play a bad guy if you want but I won’t play on a game where the bad guys are white washed as being the heroes. Nobles and Royals are bad people. Even the best of them. You can not participate in noble society and still be a good person any more than you can be a billionaire and be a good person today.

The very word Noble is propaganda to make horrible people seem like they are somehow better than everyone else so they deserve to enjoy every luxury no matter how many people have to suffer for it.
