@Zephyr said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:

You’re not wrong. Each nom level had a description, and Cujo’s Cup said something like “Think about it” as its description.

      gross

      I wish you would.

Seeing the name Adhar reminds me that he was a creep, but I can’t remember why.

I am/was tek. If this means something to you, do as you see fit with this knowledge.

@IoleRae wanting a conversation about someone being pitiful/pathetic and potentially mentally disabled to end is not the same as dismissing someone’s complaint about sexual harassment. @Wizz provided a link to the complaint (which, thank you, because I can’t search MSB) and if the conversation wants to focus there then that is fine.

Can we just go back to talking about the ‘Do Not Arx’ image?

That was a bit more fun less uncomfortable.

I wasn’t aware before this thread that he was cognitively impaired. That explains quite a lot about his other behaviors, and in that light my laughing at them was in pretty poor taste, and I’m sorry. @bear_necessities and @Bessarion were right to come to his defense and point that out. I said what I felt like I needed to say about where his inappropriate behavior crosses a line and @mietze explained how that isn’t excused by disability and that you shouldn’t hesitate to maintain boundaries just because someone is disabled, and that’s probably just a good place to leave it imo.

@Wizz I just want to make it clear that I am definitely not defending any inappropriate sexual behavior and am not defending this person at all for those behaviors. The initial commentary wasn’t about any of those things and that’s what made me uncomfortable.

@Wizz @mietze was spot on. A cognitive impaired adult is an adult. Inappropriate behavior is still wrong and should be stopped and not acceptable. Though maybe they’re not as fair game for ridicule afterwards. It is punching down but neither behavior is acceptable.

@Wizz I wasn’t aware, either, and I agree on all of the above counts, and with Jax’s last. Having dealt with people with cognitive impairments IRL, I have no intent or reason to belittle or ignore them, and do my best to respect and work well with them.

I also won’t deny that this is often EXHAUSTING and always some degree of frustrating. Recent experiences with a now former coworker have reminded me of that. Mad respect to people who do this for a living, as volunteers, or simply out of the goodness of their own hearts.

@Warlander As the spouse of a special education teacher and I work with the spouse of another special education teacher. It often seems booze is the answer after hours and away from the students.

As the mother of a special needs kid, sort of brutal to hear that dealing with other kids like him drives folks to drink.

                        lol lmao

@Herja If it makes you feel any better, I’m pretty sure any adult who works with children turns to the bottle for support, at least in America.

@GF Honestly, as a former teacher, it’s less the kids and more the bureaucracy and the entitlement of some parents that drive us to drink.

On the topic of cognitive or other impairment, we’re not qualified nor positioned to judge that for anyone we haven’t met in a suitable professional environment.

While I understand people want to be compassionate, I’d rather we didn’t lean too far in the direction of attempting to diagnose or assume a diagnosis for others.

Painfully obvious name is painfully obvious. But… #MeToo. ‘Player 4’ in the original post could be me. I don’t think it IS me. But it could be. What I do know is that I thought he was my friend - until he turned on me abruptly. And everyone under his sway just as abruptly stopped RPing with me, on all of my characters.

As for Merek… He was trying to get something from one of my characters on a game. He invited my character over to his ship to try to build a relationship between them. He greeted my character… in silk pajamas. Maybe it was an innocent mistake, but it creeped me out.

He was subsequently talking on the public channel, complaining that people don’t RP with him. Another player said it was because he came across as creepy. He asked for clarification. I shared the above example. He immediately paged me cussing me out for making him sound like a sexual pervert on chan. …if you realize that’s how it makes you sound, then why did you do it, my dude?

He later paged me an apology for his reaction but- no. Just no.

Also: as a teacher who works with kids and special needs kids… I agree. It’s rarely the students who ruin my day. It’s the red tape, and sometimes the co-workers, and occasionally the parents. It’s painful and frustrating when you can’t get kids the help you know they need.

throws some red meat, to get things back on track!

AoA staff just wiped the nom counts of most of the banned players, so that Hadrix & Co can bask in the glory of being best. They must feel so proud of themselves.

(The point being the players that were ousted were the game’s best, with the nom counts that went along with that).

Suck it, aoa. You’re a dying game.

Right. Now that I am reading. Yup. And Hadrix is the Queen of Roleplay now…

@Krautistanian Can we call the usurper the Queen till he gets 3090 +noms? He’s wearing a liars crown till then. With the current player base he’s going to be waiting awhile. Till Cujo institutes 5 +noms for every +nom or something equally dumb.
