I would gently encourage rereading the pose preceding that composure check.
Also, a character briefly getting sad from supernatural shit is laughably low stakes when one has already opted into a scene where death is very likely.

@Solstice Something something, ‘I CONSENT TO (possible) DEATH, I DO NOT CONSENT TO FEELINGS’

From my BG3 memes group, but seemed relevant.

@Tchotchke I’m going to have to assume you definitely didn’t read the pose. It was not a player character and an objectively magical event happened in that pose that lead to those checks.
Idk what gave you the impression people could cite “player agency” over reacting to a magical composure check. That has never been the case in Arx.
Edit to add: Objectively as in someone split into TWO.

It was clearly a divisive event ha ha haha

I definitely missed the pose. But since my character was already sad… guess it’s okay? I was having trouble processing at the end there.
Wild event.

just a little peeve of myself. i already tried to bring my character back once and failed super miserably, and i know i’d just fail again if i tried too.
this wrapping up stories sound like it will be a lot of fun, but i just know i wouldn’t be able to actually participate.
hope you guys all enjoy!

I’ve always had fun as Ysbail, but it was always tricksy getting into her because I very much don’t know the lore that she does, and picking clues together that a previous player found was confusing.
I’ll very much be there for the next go-round, hopefully getting in on the ground floor enough that the mysteries make sense as I learn about them and whatnot.
I’ll try to be around for the big finale, foo!

to whatever is next.

Good luck to those who’re hanging out for the finale. I wish you a happy nuke day whenever it arrives.

Re: the latest ban, all I can think about is a conversation with that player where he emphatically assured me of how great his IC/OOC boundaries are!! Honest!!

@Roz That dude creeped me out for 6 years. 6. Years.

Who was it

Yyeeaaahhh… I was super involved with them for a while. I highly regret it and my life became easier when I finally blocked and cut off contact that wasn’t ic as necessary by then being Norwood’s nephew.
-
He was never a creep to me because I think he was convinced I was male OOC because I tend to use male pronouns even OOC as Ainsley but he was also just weird OOC at times so I can’t say I’m surprised.
And lord, the stories I’ve heard recently make me wonder how it took so long for him to get booted. Like I’m surprised he managed to fly under the radar so long.
-
@Cobalt I somewhat regret not at least dropping a line to staff when I gave him the boot, just knowing now that he was probably being weirder to others. But his attempt with me mostly just made me roll my eyes, and he shrunk away so flaccidly when I told him to knock it off and he never bothered me again. He was very clearly fishing for OOC interest in the wake of some IC sexual relations, and I was just like, buddy I wasn’t born yesterday, I know what you’re doing. Someone makes an OOCly sexual joke to me once, they get a warning, second time they get booted.
