Hazbin Hotel is out and it’s frigging delightful; an insane mishmash of Disney parody, dark humor, and thoughtful deconstruction of the shape Heaven and Hell’s societies would take and the purposes they would serve. It’s also occasionally heart-wrenching: friendly heads up, there should REALLY be a trigger warning for intimate partner abuse and SA on episode 4.
-
@GF My only real complaint is that there’s only 4 episodes out so far.
-
@Solstice Is it not on YouTube anymore?

3 Body Problem on Netflix is very good, and weaves together plots from the three books in the series that don’t mix terribly well because of cryo sleep reasons, and sure they characters they are based on might not have known eachother, but this helps to make the story more character driven than just ‘stuff happens’.
Anyways, go watch it, it hasn’t gotten to the EXISTENTIAL DREAD of book 2 or 3, but gosh do the things that hit, hit HARD.

@Jennkryst I’m enjoying it immensely so far. Remembrance of Earth’s Past is one of my favorite sci fi trilogies, so really hoping Netflix greenlights Dark Forest and Death’s End.

A Dropout subscription is about the best per-dollar value I have ever spent. I’ve had one for about a year and a half and they just keep getting wildly better.

I would literally cancel ANY other subscription I have before Dropout.

@Selira Dropout is by far the best subscription I have. There’s no bad show on there. Have you watched Very Important People yet??? I WAS DYING!!!
-
@bear_necessities The Augbert episode was the best game of “Yes, and,” chicken I have ever seen and I was dying to talk about it with people.
-
@Selira I disagree.

I really gotta know if I’m the only person in the world who thinks the new season of HotD is just not good. Legit questioning whether it’s AI-written or something.

@Kestrel Unknown, I haven’t blitzed through S1 yet, let alone picked up 2, gimme a week.
Edit: I forgot to come back after blitzing through and catching up. I don’t think that it’s BAD, but I think it suffers from poor source material (I haven’t read Fire and Blood, but reviews indicate it is booooring). Also theorizing that show writers are afraid of straying too far from source like GoT did leading to the massive nose dive, and over-correcting.
