Ohh, man. I literally have You Better Be Lightning sitting on my nightstand. I’ve never been able to make it through that book without weeping in both the best and worst ways.

@Aria You’d Better Be Lightning was my lifeline through hospice. I’m gutted. But the obituary their wife wrote was absolutely beautiful, and they went out on their own terms.

I fell in love with them when I read a copy of Lord of the Butterflies when it first released. Then I backtracked to Pole Dancing to Gospel Hymns and was hooked.

They just describe MY experience of the human experience so much more eloquently than I would ever be able. The entire world lost the gift of a wonderful translator, and this one’s going to linger with me for a while.

          We're all mad here.

@Aria David Kaff AKA Viv Savage, keyboardist for Spinal Tap. That one stung. Rest well, king.

My local station is putting on a tribute that started at around 4PM and is running until midnight EST that’s all just Ozzy, Sabbath, and stories and interviews from fellow musicians, fans, etc.

To invert the trope that is this thread.

Ded Bob died four years ago.

                                But Ded Bob is back!

(The new Ded Bob isn’t as good as the old Ded Bob, but he hasn’t had thirty years of practice.)

Aww man I LOVED the Dead Bob show (there’s a pretty big Ren Faire near me and it was always a stop once a year). I’m glad it lives on, I suspect the new guy will get into a groove with it.

I want something else to get me through this

@Third-Eye I just went to ours. I missed most of the show but I thought I might burst into tears or something, 'cause Ded Bob at his old stage. Since Johnny Fox and then the fire-eater whose name slips my mind and then Ded Bob died, there are a lot fewer shows I care about.

How do we get the youth to take up sword-swallowing?
