being more interested in a game than a game is in you. that’s all. that’s the peeve.

Asking a character if they would be willing to do an event IC, only to get an @mail telling you that they have this OTHER event they want to do instead of the one you ICly asked them to do because they are sure more players would be more interested in that event.
A couple of months later, schedule a similar event you asked about previously without going through them after they already indicated they were not interested in scheduling those types of events because you want to kick off some plots you also scheduled, only to get an @mail about stepping on their IC job.

I remember talking about an idea I had for an event trying to see if there was any interest, only to have someone not in the conversation post the exact same thing as an event an hour or so later. At the time I was like oh, it must’ve been a good idea because someone else had it too!
I later found out that person had an alt on the channel where I’d been talking about it.
Oh well, it was still a good idea!

I genuinely do not enjoy running events. Don’t enjoy going to them, either. I like intimate rp, 1:1, 1:2, 1:3. And someday I won’t feel guilty about that. #affirmations

@Nynrose Well I hope they were polite at least. You do a lot, and in the over a decade I’ve known you, you have never failed to be anything but a huge positive contributor to whatever community you were part of.

Reeling a bit from a mispage earlier in the day that kinda took the wind out of my sails.
On the one hand, I guess I know who to avoid in the future. But it’s coming at a really bad place of timing.
It really sucks to feel like you’re okayish enough to pass the time with RP wise if there’s nothing better to do, but you’re not of the caliber where it would be worth engaging in deeper RP with you since you’re just a lightweight bore and there’s nothing substantial there.
I do often feel (as do like 98 percent of the people I know) like i’m the always the unwanted/last person to be picked for the kickball team. I don’t /think/ it’s the reality (and hey if we were all the super popular kickball captains growing up maybe we wouldn’t have gotten into mushing or whatever so it’s just kind of a primal worry for a lot of people. But i’m feeling it super hard tonight.
I’ll work through it (or disappear) but damn. I’ve done my share of mispages but it’s been awhile since I got one and i have to say it kinda really did hurt this time. Even if if it’s from someone that I really don’t even care about!

I have definitely said far FAR unkinder things than was said about me. So long term I’m not worried, it’s just been part of a tiring, stressful, blah day.

You and I have a bit in common (the bolded bit). I’ve kind of lost my will to RP (in all of 2022 I don’t run out of fingers on one hand for number of scenes), but even when I had more energy for it I always felt more on the side of things, even though I can point to occasions where that’s not true.

@tsar Most people I don’t like RPing with probably think I’m boring. If I’m not having a good time, no one is gdi, I’ll take this whole scene out with me.

@tsar first clearly you are not boring.
Second, it’s up to everyone in the scene to make it fun. Things are boring? LIGHT THE COFFEE SHOP ON FIRE (not your PC, you can blame the barista who just broke up with her boyfriend and has had it up to here with the manager insisting the croissants be evenly spaced in the display case when they clearly already are).
I think I am the chaotic opposite of KB in this regard where if things are boring I will go way in the opposite direction for my own amusement. Unless I find myself having to drag people along after multiple attempts, then I will probably bounce.
But my point is, you don’t blame your scene partner, the fault is not with them.
Unless it’s @KarmaBum then maybe.

@YetiBeard For sure, everyone is responsible for being fun. But that means an equal share of the load.
I don’t waste good ideas on boring people. If I am gonna burn down the coffee shop, I’mma invite my friends to watch it burn.
But yes things do tend to be on fire a lot around my characters. Or sometimes exploding.
@tsar & @Snackness have often been part of these shenanigans and often to blame in fact. Pretty sure you and I have RPed some fireballs or explosions or both.
Ergo not boring in my book.
