      @Gashlycrumb This situation is more clear-cut. If I trap these cats I am actively taking someone else’s pet with all the legal issues that come with it. They (apparently) sleep the night inside, they just spend all day outside. On the plus side, I don’t envision them deliberately getting into my backyard again now that one of them has had first-hand experience meeting the doggo.

      Also there are gaps between our side fences that cats can easily use to escape their backyard. The neighbours know about them and don’t care.

      Alas, even though it won’t formally become My Fault if god forbid something happens to a cat at the hands of my dog because she’s kept in an enclosed yard on our property, it’s definitely going to be made My Problem.

      @Pavel I referenced the Inner West Council site to find my info. Out in the far west where I am there’s jack-all in the way of stuff besides “go look at legislation”. Mind you, the inner west thing basically just transposed the legislation so it still applies.

        Written closing arguments are all submitted and now it is literally in the Judge’s hands. All we do is wait now.

                      American car is no match for Soviet bones. Admittedly, Soviet soft tissues not doing so hot. No permanent maimings but I do have some issues in the spinal region.

                      For context: I was riding my bicycle to the store, a motorist took umbridge at this and decided that I needed to be launched several feet away from the roadway. It wasn’t at appreciable speed, but it was significant enough that I’m sticking around the hospital for the next day or so.

                        Can confirm this happens. Driver couldn’t be bothered to look both directions when turning. Fortunately it was a VERY minor bump in my case, and I wasn’t ejected into oncoming traffic. 😧

                          @Pavel Hope you heal up fast and smooth, and that the spinal thing gets proper sorted out so it shuts up forever when it shuts up.

                            My RL vent is my toes.

                            TL;DR - I need nail care advice for making these bitches grow properly instead of constantly detaching despite trimming them in a straight line.

                            (It’s a little bit detailed in here.)

                            I swear my toe nails catch on every thread in my socks and start to tear, becoming curved in the process when I try to fix things (the tear is usually pretty far down to the point where I can’t trim it in a straight line).

                            My big toe nails are worse. They tend to lean towards ingrown and make specific points in my toes sore. On top of that, the other day I had literally half my big toe nail detach like it was snakeskin shedding, with perfectly fine nail underneath, and I swear what I removed had to be at least 0.5mm at the thickest part. Didn’t hurt to remove other than the above-mentioned part where it gouges into my skin. I call it my kevlar toenail because this sucker has some tensile strength. And yes, I have a picture of this if you’re that curious, but that was mostly to get informal medical advice from retired RN parentals.

                            The major point is I don’t know how to keep all of this from happening. ;.;
