Good things in Mushing

Being 50+ scenes in and not one of them has been a throwaway. I know the record’s gotta snap eventually, but so far… Even what starts out as just a little bit of fluff amid the HARD CORE BLADE RUNNER SHIT looks to bear some sort of fruit.
The players there were great, but my staff interaction was not so hot, so I bowed out before I got too far into it, but I’m glad there are still places that lots of people really enjoy. There doesn’t seem to be too many of those these days. Need to hold on to the few left.

I have had a full fantastic day of solid RP, like just wall to wall super enjoyable character development and relationship building and it’s not even over yet.
I honestly thought that kind of gaming experience was gone for me and I’m so glad it’s not.

I love being text ambushed. More.

I’ve been very lucky in this hobby to find someone who is always a ‘yes’ to my crazy ideas, whether they are in personal RP or as a GM. Last night highlighted this when I asked her to play a mole person, and she immediately jumped in.
So yeah, more generally: finding people in this hobby who are always excited about writing.

Meeting new players you’ve never RP’d with and realizing you click really well with them.
That hasn’t happened in awhile. It’s nice.

@Testament
I sometimes think I’ve come across every possible long-term player in MUSHdom but then every new game I try proves me wrong, sometimes from really surprising places. It’s great! Reminds me of why I still do this thing on public games. -
@Testament I’ve been feeling this too lately! Meeting a bunch of people I’ve never RP’d with before, and it seems like it’s going well!

@ratatat told us that scene was “pizza and poker” and it WAS NOT 🦾
-
@KarmaBum i’m still mad nobody brought the watercrest salad
-
Just sittin’ around waiting to see if someone drops something cool in my lap and someone drops something cool in my lap.
eta: I know damned well I shouldn’t be just sittin’ around waiting, I should be proactive and engaging, but IT HAPPENED ANYWAY!

Having a hard and reserved character, then encountering other characters who are able to slowly but surely crack that shell.

As somone who tends to play characters that are very different in private than they are in public… yes.

It’s bittersweet when a game closes its doors, even if it is for the very best of reasons. But it’s sweet enough that it still makes the good things list if you had fun there. If you told good stories. If you got to indulge in the #aesthetic. If you met some amazing fucking people.
Which I did.
Pour one out for the games that don’t quite make it to launch, but it’s still more sweet than bitter.

When you’re not at all sure that something you worked really hard on is going to land well…and it lands really fucking well.
