eh, I will admit that I find it hard to see it as anything other than a manipulation tactic. I don’t think it’s a particularly subtle one, or a particularly good one, but you can tell based on context when someone’s trying to use it to manipulate a conversation.

I wouldn’t even say it may have been done purposefully, but she was feeling attacked, so she went to grab a weapon to throw back carelessly. The weapon was ‘you guys are just like cyberbullies who drive people to commit suicide’.

I think if you’re choosing to see it any other way, you’re being naive.

@GF god, i wouldn’t eat chicken for 10 years because i got the worst, worst food poisoning from an Arby’s chicken salad sandwich (i know, i made some bad choices. i was 20.) i developed a really bad sensitivity to chicken where my body was like ‘no this is the bad food!’

i agree we can get a little echo chamber-y here, but calling this place an echo chamber in a thread where we’re literally disagreeing and arguing with each other is always the funniest thing to me.

i also agree with GF re: mentions of suicide not being an auto-ban. i’d be uncomfortable with that. i get it’s a sensitive topic, but its a thing some of us have struggled with for a long long time and ‘not talking about it’ policies that basically are pervasively silently a rule in real life isn’t great.

@Mushling-0 i also don’t find it appropriate to drag in her GMing/game stuff into this thread, tbh. this is discussing her behavior here on the forum.

i have to admit, i feel like this is a situation where it deserved at least a warning. i get that the behavior was gross. i called it out as gross.

but i think there’s a line where like, idk, i think that it wasn’t a clear cut ‘would i expect to get banned for this if it were me’ in the rules.

of course, i’m not a mod and i don’t make these calls and i understand it can be frustrating to make these calls and no call is going to make everyone happy. that’s my disclaimer. just speaking an opinion, even if it is from the minority.

hello guys, it’s been a while. i don’t rp, but i would like some logs and some hard evidence?? Too many soft accusations flying around and i don’t like soft things but i do love judging for myself, about this hobby i don’t participate in anymore.

@mietze I’m pretty sure I have used that as a throw away line in rp before. Like, sure not common. I also don’t think any one little thing is a big deal, but collectively, it’s hard to really conceptualize the difference in experience.

It would be like if they didn’t mention the fact that the rifts got worse with the wave of births. It’s a pretty big detail that would inform rp.

But it’s beta. Fair enough switching theme, but maybe they shouldn’t have advertised if they didn’t have big things of theme nailed down? Idk.

ETA: next time I rp, I’m gonna pee my pants from sneezing. That is also a universal female experience that never gets roleplayed.

@mietze not just any mention, sure. But how often do you hear women say ‘well, at least I’m not pregnant’ when talking about their menstruation? There are just a lot of little things inherent in our experience that would be way different if we knew without a doubt we were infertile until ready.
