Weirdest Things You've Researched for MU*s

@Aria said in Weirdest Things You've Researched for MU*s:
the markets for Soviet missiles and nuclear weaponry after the fall of the USSR
I know a guy, if you need.

@Smile said in Weirdest Things You've Researched for MU*s:
Pros and cons of different types of melee weapons.
“…Is…is that a weird thing to research?” I ask, certainly not sweating profusely
-
I’m not sure this is the WEIRDEST, but it is the most recent: how hormones are synthesized for birth control (answer: pregnant mare urine or, if you want to get painful shots, apparently YAMS).

@Yam what are you doing???
-
Every neighborhood in a city to desc the grid, down to Google street view in VR. Done most recently for LA, but previously Chicago, and Manhattan.
-
I figured I’d have the same questionable search history as everyone else since I’ve had to research a ton of topics that I knew nothing about…
But ultimately, I can only conclude one thing:
Anyone who reads my search history must think I’m an absolute dumbass.

@Jumpscare but I mean really, what flavor IS bread???

I have googled shit about shock and gunshot wounds and first aid so many fucking times that they probably could prosecute me for something.
-
I’m struggling to think of an extremist ideology I haven’t researched in depth for one game or another. My FBI agent must be confused af.
-
I didn’t research Flat Earth for a MU, but by the time I was done, I was definitely wondering if I could find an OWoD Mage game I could sneak that past as a paradigm.
-
Most recently, debridement. Got a bit into the wiki page, then immediately went to the other people in the scene and just went, “okay we’re going to time skip until the procedure is done, cool? Cool.”

Every time a search history comes into a case in court, I die a little inside.

This one came up on Keys today and it made me smirk.
-
@L-B-Heuschkel I assume the “You know you’re called” bit is a reference to something?
-
@Pavel Yeah, the game’s theme – the Called are the player character protagonists. The funny in question was more the browser history issue, though – in the light of this discussion.
-
On a WoD game I played a dockhand (or harbormaster? I can’t remember) who was a changing breed oceanborn spinner dolphin. So I heavily researched the area surrounding the fictional town, and made a map of basins and banks.
-
@Yam The red Xes are where you hid the bodies, right?
-
@Tez Lmao NO I WAS A GOOD DOLPHIN!!! TEAM GOOD GUY
My notes say they were “major seamarks”.
