50% why I don’t run a game – I’d just get drunk and ban people in the night.
That’s not saying this is the proper solution or anyone (especially Cobalt and whoever was on the receiving end of these peoples’ shit) should have to put up with or deal with this. I just couldn’t have made it this far.

I really hate the people in this hobby that ruin shit for everyone. I’m also so sorry that you have had to deal with this situation. This is the part of staffing a game that can be absolutely soul crushing.

I know that the game attracted at least one known problem player from past WoD games and I’m pissed that people couldn’t just… not. It was a great game with a lot of potential.

@KarmaBum That is the thing that I think is the issue. It was too similar to a WoD theme. WoD itself attracts a lot of predatory people because it is a game about being predators.

@Testament I mean, it’s what I did with the one guy I’ve had to ban so far. He got a warning before I went to bed. I woke up to reported conversations that showed he had not even listened a little bit. YEET.

@Cobalt I think you probably meant to @-someone else, but it is admittedly the reason I never pcreated there. I enjoyed the few times I know of that I played with you over the years, but I am always wary of shifter games in particular. Too many people in WoD took it to a gross, gross place.

@Cobalt I think having the dom/sub theme that a lot of shifter games tend to have baked in can bring out a lot of the abusive assholes who want to let their inner controlling chucklefuck out while saying “it’s theme!” Both sexually, and just general posturing about how alpha they are.
It’s a real shame, because you make fun themes!

I doubt it’s to do with the setting being close to any other setting. Weird little creeps will always feel compelled to turn their problems into your problems.

Suddenly realizing that the ideal solution to dealing with problematic shifter people in WoD is the very thing every game has banned.
SnekMurderDeathKillSquad shows up and… MurderDeathKills the character who is a fucking problem.
Then they leave three sea shells behind as a warning to other would-be Creeps.

With some people, everything with shifters becomes a sex thing and they go all Shang. This isn’t TS-shaming. This is saying that for these people, their character and their RP all start to center around their kinks, and they think this is what everyone else is there for, too.
