I hear you, for sure. I am not here to tell you or anyone else not to be mad/upset about what happened, because it was a ridiculous circus and anyone who was involved feeling hurt, betrayed, etc. are all completely valid feels, and I hope I didn’t imply otherwise.

To expand on another thought, I don’t doubt Ghost at all in that. That really sucks, and I’m glad he’s pulled himself out. I argue, instead, that bullying is punching down, never punching up. It gets murky in the middle, but if we’re all average joe then we’re all having a punch up. But it is not, for instance, bullying derp to call him a clownish ass-hair. It’s not nice, it’s not polite, it may not even be deserved (it is though), but it’s not bullying. Nor was it bullying Ganymede to say she made a really bad call, regardless of how nice anyone was about it. Social pressure is real and terrifying, and it’s deeply unpleasant when the hose gets turned on you, but ultimately Gany held all the power and now so does derp. If you’ve got the power to silence people on a whim (whether or not you do so), you’re not being bullied.
Nor is it a clique if a bunch of folks come down on the same side in a dispute, even when that dispute is “is derp a clownish ass-hair?” Opinions are not any less valid if a lot of people have the same one, in the same way they’re not any less valid if only one or two people have them. Insert that political tweet about someone claiming they were being silenced but being real reluctant to say what they were being silenced for.

I am a survivor of abuses I will not describe here.
Sometimes, that trauma makes me more empathetic. Others, it turns me into a howling ragebeast. Most times it just makes me an icy bitch.
I do not pretend an explanation for why I act the way I do is an excuse for why I act the way I do, because if I did that, then I would be saying, “My damage gives me the right to damage others and they’re not allowed to say anything about it.” I at least own that I am unpleasant and antisocial, and I have no patience for people who refuse to do the same.

This rift reminds me for all I tried to do with running games here and there to give folks a place to play where they enjoyed it the same way I did, I ended up with zero friends in the community.
I agreed to help at MSB a bit after the fallout, out of respect to Gany, shit kept happening both places. Neither ‘side’ is right as they want to think they are, its more two distinct echo chambers at this point.
Its my calling to bow out of Mu’ing completely at this point and wish everyone the best of luck on both sides, I did consider folks on both sides as friends even if they didn’t realize it. I guess horrible people skills and communication. I changed my password there, just felt like giving a short good-bye somewhere and signed up here briefly.

@Dumnagul I played on at least one of your games, I think. I remember you as a very kind admin that was understanding and patient with stuff I didn’t understand and who took a complaint I had very seriously. I wish you well out there in the greater world.

@bear_necessities This is true. And we became friends on Calaveras! Calaveras is how I found @KarmaBum in the wild again. I enjoyed @Dumnagul’s ability to spin up a full game’s worth of rooms faster than I could even imagine a room’s outline.

Please do not doubt someone who claims they have been abused. Not even if you profoundly dislike them. Not even if they engage in shitty behavior themselves after the fact.
NGL, I got way too drawn into Ghost’s personal life and resulting well-being about a decade ago, but it was not in the Regina George “OMG, why are you so obsessed with me?!” kind of way that Dropkick tried to portray it as later. It was in the “As extremely unlikely as it is to be accepted, I feel like I need to (with my partner’s knowledge and agreement) at least offer to put this person up in my spare bedroom because they have repeatedly expressed to me that they feel unsafe in their own home” kind of way.
I’m not going to go into more than that because it’s absolutely not my story to share, and I’m not going to claim that it justifies terrible behavior on his part because it absolutely does not. Believe me, even after confirming there was no bad blood between us – at least not about that and the dRaMa!!11!one!elevn!!! that resulted – there have been several times since then that I’ve wanted to sock the dude in the mouth.
But, like… don’t, guys. Just don’t. Not cool, and A+ to the folks who said they aren’t going to do that.

That actually comes up in at least one published White Wolf book, though at this point I no longer remember which. I’ll tag @insomniac and maybe he’ll reply after his TT session is over.
ETA: I am going to laugh so hard if his inaugural post on BMD is like, “Yeah, so the VtM book with the jizz-blood ghouling is…”

@Aria this is why I lol every time when some one is like “omg why would anyone think VtR or VtM is full of sex, that’s just players being weird! Why are people always wanting to do weird sex stuff and incest and all that! Play the game!” That’s how I know they don’t read the side stories in the books.

In original WoD, it was like: Vampires don’t do sex because A) The Kiss is better, B) The kiss is better, and C) Sex is for living things and other vamps will mock you for doing it.
Then they realized that living people like sex, and sex sells, so it’s changed to, ‘Some vampires do it for pleasure or hunting, but the Kiss is still better’.
