      Well that’s suspicious.

But I’ll take this opportunity to pine for Vampire the Requiem once again. All the WoD games have returned to 20th Anniv. edition of everything.

People are too invested in THE METAPLOT… which also sort of happened with Requiem/nWoD. ‘I am part of this bloodline, let me name-drop the person from the book instead of seeing if we should alter stuff for game setting’.

Which, I mean, fair. I still think that the ideal WoD game should build out a wiki of the world as players submit new characters. If the game is in New York City, staff obviously have NYC history in mind. But do they know who is in charge in Philadelphia? The first character submitted from that area gets to canonize the lore from there, and then it gets integrated. Second player now has to deal with Philly being Carthian (because who else would riot in both celebration AND defeat?)

That, or somehow be on LegallyDistinctEarthlikeLocation, as written in Trans-Ally Katherine Applegate’s second-greatest work, Everworld.

Everyone is running 20th edition and ignoring V5’s metaplot entirely so I’m not convinced about anything to do with the metplot, harrumph harrumph.

I just wannt play some Chronicles of Darkness, preferably Requiem but honestly I’d play any of 'em.

Which is the correct thing to do.

            My updated wishlist:

            • LARP Rules VTM game - I firmly believe that since the LARP rules are designed with large groups and player-centric plots in mind, they’d be better at supporting a MU than the tabletop version of the same.
            • Unknown Armies - Weird magick, surreal horror, and cosmic power in a smaller city in America.
            • Curseborne - Not sure how to get around the shared token economy, but still, I could see it making a fairly entertaining MU.
            • CoD (or NWoD) - I too wish there was a CoD/NWoD (depending on which splats, for me, as I’m split on which edition I like the best) game out there.
            • Powered By The Apocalypse Multiplex - I had this idea a while ago where someone could build one server with 10-12 mini grids on it that each support a different PbtA game. Each game would have a limited number of PC spots (equal to the number of playbooks available to that PbtA game.) It’d be like a multiplex theater of gaining XP from failing.
            • Cube Robots - This is an idea I have been tinkering with for a while (both in rules mechanics and universe building). It currently doesn’t have a better name, but it’s a sci-fi setting that focuses on fresh sentience and the battle between ingrained duty and personal identity. I don’t wish anyone else create this, it’s on my I would run wishlist.

I would like to see a Lords & Ladies game like Castle D’Image, or Crossroads, where it’s accessible, engaged players and staff, friendly but without having to learn a slew of backplot and systems like Arx, which I found kind of overwhelming. Evennia is a very complex system, with a lot going on.

Perhaps it was also back when I first played, but it was a time when I was naive and didn’t know everyone’s drama, though I was too young and dumb not to get swept up in it. I’d love to avoid that for a second round.

Maybe they are around though, and I just don’t knwo where to look.

There was a Terry Pratchett Discworld game that I really loved but it didn’t last too long. I wish it was still there.

Definitely craving something in the horror-adjacent urban fantasy space - CoD, Unknown Armies, Curseborne, anything like that would be great.

My forever-want is gaslamp fantasy with a real sense of Victorian authenticity. Not necessarily “perfectly historically accurate”, but made by someone who understands what the social conflicts of the era were for the place they’re setting it, and has a real reason to set a game in THIS place and THIS time, with supernatural/fantasy elements that really lean into it. Spiritualism, for example – hell, something set in the Burned Over District would be great fun.

@Pavel I do have a lot of problems with v5 but I sure do love the hunger dice system, I think that’s fun as.

It’s not Brujah as a bloodline it’s Bruja, it’s different darnit! Grumble grumble.

But yeah I know. They did kinda cook themselves a little bit in trying to migrate a fanbase by keeping some things named the same like Ventrue, Gangrel, Toreador bloodline etc.

I forget who told me, but apparently, they also didn’t originally mean for Forsaken to be as heavily spirit-centric like Apocalypse, and also randomly decided to make the anti-yiffing rules even worse.

At least one of which is solved entirely by CoD, so huzzah!

(none of this stops the haters from hating, but shrug
