@Gashlycrumb That seems like it can’t be legal, charging you extra that way.

RE: Comic Games Are Still Fun!
@Roz “Politics” seems to imply viewpoints that people can disagree about in good faith. Alex Jones is simply an ongoing denial of objective, observable reality who has never spoken in good faith in his life. That it’s “controversial” to say so blows my mind.

Making weird comments about there being too many pronouns is NOT politics as far as I’ve seen
I didn’t want to go there because I’ve been trying very hard lately to identify and curb my prejudices, but yeah, that’s pretty much what I thought they meant. Being a minority is political, so you mustn’t discuss your life because it will make “normal” people uncomfortable, but “normal” people can chat shit about you because that’s not political.
sigh

Not talking about anything political on the channel is a rule that I’m happy to abide by.
The main thing confusing me is, how is Alex Jones a political topic? If he’s politics, then what topic isn’t politics?

@ten Don’t worry, training a dog to hunt potatoes is super easy. You’ll barely waste a calorie on it.

The thing I like about shared universes is that characters who don’t normally get to interact ostensibly can now.
But, like…

@Pavel I literally cannot remember the last time someone who was seeking RP had any idea for a thing they wanted to do, so their request for RP was their way of saying, “I want someone who will do all the work of entertaining me.” I came to really resent it.

@Alveraxus I’ve been seeing some videos on YouTube suggesting a new edition is coming out which will rewrite a lot of the lore to make it less yucky, but I can’t tell if this fabled new edition is actually coming out (I can’t find news about it) or if the video creator is presenting their own ideas as if it’s happening.

RE: MU Peeves Thread
My brain is doing the thing again.
If each fruit has a single seed, and two seeds are necessary to quicken a single pregnancy, then how many fuck-fruit plants (trees or vines or whatever the hell they are) must be planted to yield a harvest sufficient to renew both the human population and orchards/vineyards? What kind of investment of land and farmers/caretakers is necessary to support this infrastructure, not to mention the number of guards necessary to maintain hegemonic control over production and distribution? Is every seed guaranteed to blossom and/or result in pregnancy? If not, how does this uncertainty affect the previous numbers? What measures are in place to make sure no part of the supply chain is subject to corruption that would allow a fuck-fruit black market? What are the penalties for illicit impregnation? What kind of snake oil salesmen exist selling fake fuck-fruit to couples who have been denied official ones? What options exist for people who want to get pregnant but are allergic to fuck-fruit?

RE: MU Peeves Thread
@Pacha The fruit has a single seed, which is the source of fertility, but both partners have to eat it? So they have to split the seed?

I can’t tell if I’m proud or ashamed of how effortlessly “fuck-fruit” has caught on.

his love of treating people who were interested in taking inspiration from comic books like idiots
I know this is the least important thing anyone could ever bring up, but, like, it still drops my jaw when I think about his reimagining of Caitlin Fairchild from a friendless computer nerd with a dumptruck’s worth of self-esteem issues into a genius who routinely invents bleeding edge robots and spends all day barbecuing.

RE: Comic Games Are Still Fun!
There is probably something profound or insightful to say about how HAM was formed because the staff of their previous game quit en masse after the head staffer started treating them as badly as he treated the peon players, only for the response game built from that exodus to seem to go exactly the same route.
But if there is, I’m too dispirited to go looking for it. The abusive staff who could only bother to take a moral stance against abuse once someone more powerful was abusing them went on to create a new, abusive game* where they took no moral stance against abuse until someone more powerful than them was abusing them. There may or may not now be a third generation of splinter games where the cycle will continue, all because of wanting power over dorks like me who think it would be neat to be a superhero and wear sexy spandex.
So, I dunno, pretend I posted that meme about leopards and faces.
*EDIT: I have no tea to spill here, just stories from friends whom I trust implicitly.

@STD You are really kind of making me want to play a manic pixie dream mama. But I suppose that’s really just Mary Poppins, isn’t it?

The Ortallus debacle brought back fewer bad memories than I expected, and does offer some joy in rediscovering all the epic, effortless dunks people got in.

@Coin See, I don’t think I’m even digging! These are just the questions that occurred instantly to me! More have been popping into my head as time goes by, a lot of them feeling really icky, like “what happens when you feed a fuck-fruit to a child” that I really hope DON’T get answered.

RE: MU Peeves Thread
There are so many questions.
If everyone in the game world is infertile, then what other changes are there? Do people menstruate? How common is sex, and how common is sexual impotence? Do people in this world where only fruit can make babies have a biological urge to have sex? Does the fruit, in addition to making your eggs drop and your wigglies wiggle, act as an aphrodisiac? Are people even sexually dimorphic when not under the effects of the fuck-fruit?
What’s society like? What are the requirements to get a fuck-fruit? Are birth rates keeping up with rates of death? Is it a culture in which medicine has advanced to the point that you don’t need to have eight kids because the first seven are probably gonna die of strep throat?
I’m not even mad, just really wanting answers.
