Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo

They were deemed to be ill-timed jokes, at worst
LOCKER ROOM TALK.
Cujo and Hadrix should be shunned from any other place they ever try to play on. And shot into the sun for good measure.

When the people who will defend others leave a space, that space gets worse. People need to know there is someone they can report this stuff to.
If this thread is the first time you’re hearing most of these complaints, then people do not know or believe there is someone that can report this stuff to.
Which is the only reason I’m here trying.
Let me get this straight. Your goal here is to make people understand that you will be their advocate, and that’s why your first post was to say you never played on some other game we’re not really even talking about? That’s why you haven’t reached out to anyone who’s made an accusation and offered to listen? That’s why your tone has been pedantic and defensive? That’s why when people ask what you’re doing, you answer in the vaguest possible terms that could not possibly provide any comfort or confidence to the people who have been hurt on your game?
I will try to give you the benefit of the doubt that you actually believe you’re here to let victims of your game know they’re safe in your hands, but even if you believe it, the level of thoughtlessness and incompetence you are displaying is unconscionable. You are so bad at the thing you claim to want to do that you are actively doing harm to your own purported cause. You seriously need to step out of that role immediately until you have done hard research into how to talk to victims of sexual harassment.
I suppose me telling you this obligates me to give you a crash course on the topic, but I am much too tired to deal with it and too flabbergasted to do so with any degree of good faith.
If this is how you treat people who are trying to help, I can start to understand why no one tries to help.
I don’t know anyone in this situation very well. But what I do know is that no one on staff over there but @64bitjedi is offering anything but a giant wall of IGNORE or denials for the situation.
Even if the help is shitty (which I don’t think that it is, especially considering that he has had no obligation to try to help or explain anything or make anyone feel better and was specifically told not to but chose to do it anyway) it is still more help than anyone else has gotten. And instead of building on that, you just want to unload all your anger on this person.
If you’re trying to make him go away so that you can continue to scream/complain into the void without any possibility of anything ever improving, then keep it up, you are definitely off to a good start.
But personally, I’d suggest going another route and actually trying to work with the person that is trying to work with you.
@helvetica said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:
@64bitjedi You can’t just be here. Games don’t function without coders. You’re someone with influence on that game, and you are being presented with the opportunity to no longer support someone who is demonstratively not interested in changing their deeply troubling behavior. No amount of placating language is going to change that.
If he’s someone with influence on that game how does it help to remove himself from the game? You have someone that has the power to change things and you ask them to give up all that power and leave it to the people who are doing all the bad things? That doesn’t make any sense… except…
It definitely helps all the hurt/angry people that would like to see the place fail as revenge, but it doesn’t actually help the game itself in any way.
So what really is the goal? Improving the situation or scorched earth revengery?
Scorched earth revengery? I’m just trying to help dude out not look like an asshole. There’s no saving that game without a new headwiz.

@GF said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:
I ask this seriously, not rhetorically: who cares one way or the other if the game fails? So what? Why should we prioritize the health of the game over the health of the people hurt by its staff and players?
This is the same dude who galloped in here to shill for a giant corporation with a cartoonishly evil plan, suggested our priority should be to think of all of those poor, poor statistically insignificant victims of false SA reports rather than the victims themselves, and described everything happening in this thread as “screaming into the void,” just to specifically call out some of his atrociously bad takes after the MSB split.
He’s been a mediocre toxic presence ever since WORA to my recollection, I honestly think he just comes over here to troll us, and I don’t suggest you ask him anything in seriousness.

i’m gonna take a shot for 64bitjedi showing up, but i am also going to call a bet and take a shot that he’s now gone.
I would never admit to playing a game that actually posted this.
@RedShoes said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:
A ban is possible for him, for everyone if they become an active burden upon the playerbase, and the game’s health.
I’d go back underground and pretend it wasn’t me. That is the coldest shit I’ve ever seen from a staffer.
“It’s fine, he’s not harassing anyone important right now.”
-
@DarthSmegma said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:
@Pavel Yeah, sure. And now on AoA only NEW players can be Mandalorians. No existing players can go grab some beskar armor and pestering everyone.
Except that’s not ENTIRELY true. Apparently the posted rule was bent recently to allow Colo Nell to convert despite being past the thirty day ‘new character’ limit listed in the rules.
Colo Nell is the IC boyfriend of a a Kora, and that Kora is one of the new staffers that was brought in alongside Hadrix. The rules are bent for insiders. Nobody else would have been allowed this, of course.
-
@SpilledBeanz Come join us at Manbro Wars: Age of Kora! New coded feature coming this Summer… EVERYONE ELSE STARTS THE GAME AS A SEX SLAVE!
Oh, and also there’s some vaguely Star Wars-like stuff too, if you’re into that.
-
Seriously, though. I don’t think I have seen a more fucking weaselly response in…ever?
@RedShoes said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:
All sexual harassment claims are taken seriously though, and if deemed valid, and actively a serious burden, then expect that player to get banned.
Oh, it’s not enough that it is “valid,” a claim also has the mountain to climb of proving that is actively a serious burden.
I just…what. Actively a “serious” burden. So, what, people who aren’t harassing…enough(???) just skate on by, according to that standard.
It can’t be said often enough, fuck that dude.
-
@Wizz ‘and actively a serious burden for Cujo or his besties’
-
@Wizz Oh, I know. I have no illusion of ever changing his mind about anything. I just think there’s value in asking any dudebro who reads this thread why they think anyone cares if AoA lives or dies instead of us caring about how AoA’s staff treats people.
-
@GF When I read their website, keeping the game alive and healthy was a huge, recurring theme.
Join us, get big, have fun.
People there are just trained to think that way about the game. They’re probably convinced it’s altruistic to do so.
-
We should actively want games that have reached this level of terribleness to die. Because a year or two from now, people who haven’t read this thread will be looking for a Star Wars game, and will stumble upon this cesspool.
Spoiler alert: This is what Cujo and Co are hoping will happen. So it’s important to shine as bright a light as possible on their shittiness, which I think you all did pretty magnificently.
Thank you everyone who came forward with personal stories and corroborating testimony!
-
@DarthSmegma This is probably me splitting hairs, but I feel like people in general tend to think of a game as something separate from the people who compose a game. In that sense, my only concern is that people should be safe from predators. If that means AoA dies right now, then that’s fine with me. If it means a populist uprising manages to throw out all the predators and creates a new staff regime that actually protects players, and the game lasts another forty years, then that’s also fine with me. AoA is nothing to me either way.

@Sammich I was high as hell tbh

Cujo’s post…
@RedShoes said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:
Two of them wanted someone banned from the game who they believed was a sexual harasser.
This is simply not true. No one ever requested to ban him. The two (now former) staff wanted Hadrix removed from staff, not banned.
@RedShoes said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:
The situations that were used as evidence happened over a year ago. It was two claims of evidence. One was from 2018, the other from last year.
This is also not true. Several people who are not related to these two “situations” have said they reported sexual harassment by Hadrix (or other players) to Cujo and that Cujo did nothing. Other victims didn’t report because, clearly, reporting does nothing. Cujo’s insistence that it was ‘just two times from some malcontents’ is disingenuous.
@RedShoes said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:
Being on Staff is not a promotion, if anything it’s additional workload x10 what you might expect.
Being on staff also allows you to see hidden locations, IP addresses, purchases, travel, +sheets, gear, backgrounds, alts, suspect pages, and all manner of other things that a questionable player should not have access to. That is the entire point of this thread. Questionable players, cheats, harassers, should not be staff.
@RedShoes said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:
All sexual harassment claims are taken seriously though, and if deemed valid, and actively a serious burden, then expect that player to get banned.
This line is exactly why I made the first post of this thread. This line is why I caused trouble. When it comes from a ‘popular’ player, there are no levels of harassment that Cujo will agree are an active burden. Especially considering he is pretending that much of the harassment I originally referenced, and which other people have added since, does not exist.
Silencing a number of accounts (nuking alts and @newpassing main characters) just before he made his explanation post is telling. All the silenced players have some flimsy explanation for being nuked/newpassed, but it’s not the same explanation across the board, and for some people, there is no explanation at all. Some attempt has been made to call this type of character removal ‘standard,’ but it is unprecedented, especially on this scale, and for this suspiciously select group of players.
At no point have Hadrix or Cujo issued an apology to the community for any hurt caused, accepted responsibility, communicated an intention toward meaningful change, or expressed remorse for even unintentional harm.
I stand by the first post that I made. I said what I said.

@RedShoes said in Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo:
And icing to the cake, Cujo finally speaks on game.
…
We have had about 3 major cases of this in the past 8 years, and those 3 cases were dealt with swiftly once the proper evidence was ruled upon.
- Cujo**
This moment, alone, should tell everyone his claims are bullshit. I’ve been on large games where I’ve had three sexual harassment incidents against me, personally, in one week (hello, IRE, you also have major problems). Three over eight years simply isn’t a believable number, and it tells me that either people are afraid to come forward (obviously true from this thread) or that if they do, the cases are dismissed by and large out of hand (obviously also true from this thread).
I’m not sure I’d even expect three cases in eight years from a moderate-sized, 50+ person company, let alone a game full of MUers.
