      @Kestrel Yeah, I dunno. I get putting things out there right away, but I guess I can’t really wrap my head around the idea that an emphasis on writing detracts from the immediacy of the acting. If this was just a MUD, I likely wouldn’t blink, but the game doesn’t wholly feel like a MUD at glance. I just suppose that in a medium where everything is based upon text, the writing involved is what delivers a sense of immersion and delivers that emotional impact.

      While yes, I’m not saying that the same can’t be done with a shorter form of writing, but I guess, something feels lost by what feels(to me, in my opinion)when that kind of rule or restriction is put into place. Maybe the word restriction is too harsh of a descriptor. Limiting, I guess.

      And if were to really think about it, I think what bothers more is that there feels like there’s a press on having a quick turnaround in poses. I feel something like that would be more anxiety-inducing than whether or not your pose was too wordy

      It was good to point it out. I only knew what I do about this because I work in this industry. This strategy of trying to compromise people through modified clones is a constant thing. What was notable in this case was the original tweet claiming huge numbers like it was something new, and it went viral.

      Something worth noting for people working on github. An extension of this strategy is for the attackers to open PRs, with the compromising code, back to the original repo hoping that a maintainer will assume that a forked repo represents a good faith development effort and fail to fully review the code and merge it. At that point, the core repo is compromised.

      It’s always important to fully review code before you merge.

      The key thing about magic systems is making sure they are as balanced (or not) as you want them to be, and that the documentation is accessible to all so that nobody is getting the wool pulled over their head.

      In some cases Magic is by it’s very nature not balanced at all, and then you have to worry about wether or not you need to restrict it, or just assume that all PC’s are capable of it due to being special, as they are PC’s, or how you’re going to piss off the have nots.

      It really is something that needs to be baked in at the ground level so that the system is accounting for it.

      My three cents.

      I agree with @Mourne that at its most basic, a successful game is an enjoyable one.

      Getting into more detail, I like a lot of what @Tat and @Pyrephox and @L-B-Heuschkel said. To me, a successful game is one with a cohesive theme and setting, where I can get enjoyable RP 1-3 times per week and can have an impact on the setting (even if it’s tiny).

      I want the enjoyable RP because, well, that’s why we do this, right? I want to be able to have an impact on the setting because that’s what I find most enjoyable. I want a cohesive theme and setting because I like a game that makes sense, and without that cohesion, I get stuck putting in inputs and getting outputs that don’t make sense to me.

      So this has been becoming something of a habit for me, and I think it’s become a useful tool in taking a gauge from players because it doesn’t track names or who even wrote the response. I created a Google Poll some months back looking for responses on how events have been run. I’ve since expanded that to include more questions revolving around the game itself. I’ve noticed a number of people prefer anonymity when wishing to give feedback.

      And because I know that not all of 7N’s players use the Discord(for which I completely understand why), I’m also putting it on the game and also here since a number of players that play also read this forum. So I’m putting it here as well.

      Also, there are a number of questions that can also apply to folks who haven’t played but have eyeballed the wiki. So if you’re willing to give feedback, I’m certainly not opposed and would be welcome to it.

      Anyhow, I appreciate anyone who has a couple minutes to spare, be you a player or not. In the end, I think this is a good way to not only make the game better, but myself better as a game runner.

      ;.;

      There’s been some side-eying given to a family member in my case as well, because they have been saying and doing certain things that seem like a precursor to it, or outright misremembering if not forgetting certain things.
