Don’t forget we moved!

Enjoy the Reads!! (Admin: ETA a content warning. It's THE LOG from The Pack thread.)

@CuriousGamer Macha baited someone in their DMs, then reported said person, then Gany banned said person and the rest of us got banned for defending said person and not defending Macha.
-
she also kinda stood by giddily, acting like the victim when JUST LIKE IN THIS LOG, she is the asshole
funnily enough, once we were all gone, MSB turned into Macha whining about her life once a week and no one replying instead of the deeply philosophical well promised when the silent majority was finally untethered
because
WAIT FOR THE PLOT TWIST
Macha is nasty and not worth talking to
-
I’m trying to figure out how my brain wants to respond to having read all this shit. Maybe this is fitting.
-
I feel like we should let this thread die and create a general Macha thread without her apparent gloating at the top. I personally don’t feel comfortable with the full log being on blast in this way.
-
@Jumpscare I feel like we just shouldn’t give Macha anymore screentime in general. Even if it’s bad attention she’ll thrive on it. I say make a general awareness one of what to look out for in toxic mushers, but other than that don’t give her the satisfaction of remaining on our radars.
-
Also apparently Macha is logging onto other games as a Guest and messaging people that she is not guilty of what she’s being accused of here. Which could be a response to being banned from Pack or prove that she is connected to this thread.
I’ll say this and then honestly done because I have my own history with Macha and am not looking to get triggered today. I was one of the support staff on Pack and know the other staff member. Cobalt shared the log on first thread. I didn’t share this one, I know the other staff didn’t and nobody else would have it other than Macha and the other participant. Who likely wouldn’t want anymore attention brought to themselves. So unless she shared it with a minion to do her campaigning, it is definitely Macha.

I actually don’t think this is true. My experience with Macha is about a decade old at this point, but what I’ve seen and heard of her more recent behavior, she hasn’t changed. And the Macha I know doesn’t actually troll for attention. She has a deep need for control of every situation in order to try and put herself in the best light. She hates being accused of bad behavior. She will never, ever accept culpability in anything.
A thread like this is probably making her furious. This is further evidenced, in my view, by the reports that she’s logging on other places to insist on her innocence.
So, yeah, I don’t think exposing her behavior is giving her any sort of enjoyment.
-
I’ve made a new thread for Macha, I’m not sure how the linking is done, but maybe one of the Admins would be kind enough to help with that?

The log has been removed pending community discussion.

ngl, this slippery slope makes me nervous, but i’m here for it i guess
-
@KarmaBum I agree but sticky situations make for bad precedent generally. As long as this remains an individuated judgment call there are going to be situations on either side of the line, y’know?

I don’t think any of us are overjoyed with it, but for me, it came down to: the relevant information (including a large portion of the log) is still available in another log post from someone who actually explained context and relevance, and the deleted posts didn’t offer any additional context that seemed to change that situation at all. These log posts did not seem to contribute anything except confusion and distress.
That’s MY take on it, as a person, anyway. I do not speak for any other admin.
-
@KarmaBum It does set a questionable precedent.
I’m not really sure how I feel about it. I would have preferred the log stayed up, but I understand why it was taken down.
-
This one is also not posted by the gamerunner, or victim (assumedly). The whole subject of this thread too. Just reads ick. Just makes me want to smack someone. Gross. Gross gross. Gross.
-
I was someone leaning more on the side of leaving it up, but I can appreciate that “give some sort of context or intent to your log posting” is a fairly low bar for people to hit.
-
@CuriousGamer Until OP is willing to answer any question at all, the preponderance of evidence suggests this is more abusive fuckery, so leaving it or not leaving it becomes symbolic.
Either we’re okay with letting people use the forum to perpetuate more abuse because we want to be hands-off, or we’re going to draw the line somewhere and kick some shit out and yes, it will require judgment calls. I trust the admin to make those judgment calls in good faith, I trust the community to hold them accountable.
-
I don’t really think this is a slippery slope. Just because the admins do a thing doesn’t mean they have or even will do the worst possible iteration of that thing, especially in light of the hours of active resistance they put up to this.
-
I hate it.
In the absence of stated intentions or feelings, we are just ascribing them. So, people have to meet some standard of noble intention to be able to post logs? What standard? What if someone said “I am posting this to show that x was not solely to blame”? That wouldn’t be noble enough if we don’t agree? They have to be willing to engage and actively defend themselves? We decide what is humiliating or not for other people? Only ‘victims’ or gamerunners can post logs?
-
@Pyrephox I get where you’re at.
Rock. Hard place.
Just don’t agree that “taking down a log that no one in the log asked to have removed” is the right move.
If I post a log of the time @bear_necessities did something super fucking weird to me (put her on blast 'cause she’s done tons of weird shit to me <3) and @meg doesn’t like it, are you gonna take it down?
