Good things in Mushing

Feeling adopted by an amazing batch of writers is nice. Expansive imaginations and vocabularies and they put it all together in amazing ways. And they seem to enjoy my weird. It’s great. Like really great.

@IoleRae For all that I’ve done. For all the things I’ve failed at, of which there are many, when I’m told that the players feel safe? That is perhaps the most rewarding thing I’ve gotten out of it.

Queers. I recently found a game full of them, and I can’t even describe how it feels to be surrounded by people who know what I’m talking about.

Finally starting to snowball on a character. I’ve called it too early before but I am going to be optimistic!

I know that I’m supposed to be working on a Pern game and we just let SR go but…
…I got really excited about the idea of an anthology game (because I haven’t done enough DYING ON MUSHES or KILLING ON MUSHES lately and idk maybe I’m homicidal) so I started working on it, and it’s taking shape.
Still no cowboys, but my Jack the Ripper plot idea has me feeling optimistic.

There’s nothing quite like running a session where every player is engaged in the scene and having fun, even when things don’t go perfectly. Tense IC, chill OOC, and just a whole lot of fun from start to finish. It reminds me why I love to GM.

Getting to play with relatively new to me folks plus a friend in a scene where our pretty srs bsns PCs due to some really amusing roll failures got themselves into a psychedelic pickle.
It wouldn’t have worked for every group of people but these folks had me grinning so hard my face is sore and giggling so much that I kept having coughing jags (I’m still ill with a parting gift illness from work).
I love being able to play gritty, play dark, be serious and tragic but also sometimes getting to have a funny (and probably stupid to some folks im sure) scene on the fly.
I really needed the rl laughter, and it was delivered.
-
@mietze Finding a group of ‘yes, and’ folks who run with the ridiculous as readily as the serious is a fucking GIFT.
-
Just those random RP moments/connections that come out of nowhere make you extra delighted and looking forward to more.
-
When you know exactly what you’re going to do with something.

@Roz I have told you a dozen times that when you share with the class you share everything with the class.

@dvoraen you’re not gettin’ my gum, copper!!

Today my good thing in mushing is @IoleRae starting actually constructive threads for us to talk about relevant gaming things. You have done this a fair amount and I just want to tip my hat.
