Absolutely this and the one where the little girl goes to the store for a quart of milk, a stick of butter, and a loaf of bread. Whenever my husband says he’s going to the store or I say I’m running to grab stuff and we ask what do we need, we always end the list with that phrase. ❤ childhood was sweet.

It’s really easy to use, is based around a tree based system of nodes, and allows for all kinds of formatting, and automatic syntax highlighting when you decide to throw a block of code into your notes. It’s also free.

For work, I am forced to use Microsoft OneNote, which is probably more feature filled than CherryTree is, but at the same time, I prefer CherryTree’s UI and node/tree method of organization.

Ah, yes. I just call that the Forced Airplane Mode Tutorial feature. An interactive game where you stare blankly for a few seconds, then jab airplane mode on, then off, then stare blankly until the bars come back.

My main craft-based hobby these days is bobbin lace. Other than that, I crochet and I can knit if I have to. I used to make chainmail, and one of these fine days I’ll start making some YouTube videos on that. Embroidery and cross-stitch I’ve done, and dressmaking, and candlemaking; I tried quilting long ago and will do it again at some point, but probably not with a sewing machine.

Just putting this out there since the discussion reminded me of it.

I read lots of things, mostly fantasy and SF, but also poetry, literary fiction, trashy pop romances, history, non-fiction. I love a smart style and a voice that brings out an interesting character. The last couple years, I’ve been able to read nothing but comfort reads. I’ve given a lot of thought to what makes these comforting to me, and I think it’s some message of “No matter what the rest of the world says, you have a place here. This is your home.” A couple favorite series that I’ve found recently have been Victoria Goddard’s Greenwing & Dart, and Martha Wells’ Books of the Raksura. And then there’s Everina Maxewell’s Winter’s Orbit, a book I’ve read 5 times since last October, and I almost never reread anything. For comfort reads, I also recommend reading cook books. Just slowly wander through the stories, ingredients, and instructions, and really enjoy the pictures.
